Chief Appraiser at Fayette County Appraisal District
The Fayette County Appraisal District (FCAD), located in La Grange, Texas, is currently accepting applications for the position of Chief Appraiser.
Preferred applicants should have a Registered Professional Appraiser (RPA) designation from the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration and experience in all phases of appraisal district operations.
The District collects property taxes for participating entities in Fayette County, and a Registered Tax Assessor (RTA) designation is therefore a plus. Other preferred qualifications would include prior experience as a chief appraiser in Texas, substantial familiarity with issues arising from the annual State property value study, Methods and Assistance Program, and graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
Salary range will start out at $120,000 and be contingent upon qualifications and commensurate with experience. FCAD also offers health, dental, and vision insurance, a retirement plan, paid holidays and vacation and sick leave. In addition, candidates should disclose the earliest date they can begin employment with FCAD.

Qualifications:

General Position Description: Under the direction of the Deputy Chief Appraiser, performs the functions and activities associated with the appraisal of assigned properties, including inspection, data collection, analysis, application of appropriate techniques and methods.
